Interlibrary Loan Policies
PSI faculty, staff, and students may request materials that are not available in the PSI libraries through interlibrary loan. If you are not currently affiliated with PSI, contact your local public library for your interlibrary loan needs.
Books, photocopied articles, theses, dissertations and audio-visual materials may be requested. However, theses, dissertations and audio-visual materials are often difficult to obtain.
Submitting Requests
Before submitting an interlibrary loan request, please check the database resources to make sure that the material you need is not available in the PSI libraries. You will need to complete the appropriate interlibrary loan form at either the Ruth Holt Library in Atlanta or the Poindexter Library in Chattanooga. You may also request via e-mail, by including the full citation for articles or books. We will notify you by either phone or e-mail when your requested material is ready for you to pick up.
Charges
Generally there are no charges for materials borrowed through interlibrary loan. However, should borrowed materials become damaged or lost after you receive them, you will be responsible for any repair or replacement charges assessed by the lending library.
