Our students are part of a unique movement and legacy of excellence. Enrollment is at an all-time high as God calls more people to be difference-makers. For those enrolled at PSI, counseling will become a ministerial vocation to facilitate Christ-centered transformation.

Pre-Registration

DATES: Pre-registration dates will be published in the Academic Calendar. Returning students will be able to pre-register for courses one week before new students. All advisement is done by appointment only.

New students will be assigned to an advisor by the Director of Admissions.

Pre-registration Procedures:

  • Advisors will pre-register all degree-seeking students.
  • All ISW students will pre-register with the Registrar and must complete an ISW Registration form.
  • All non-degree seeking students will pre-register with the Registrar.
  • All forms referenced in this document are available on PSI’s website under Current Students and Important Forms and Documents or from the literature racks outside the Registrar’s (CHATT) and Administrative (ATL) Offices.

Steps to become pre-registered:

  • Make an appointment to meet with your advisor.
  • Your advisor will verify your contact information and degree program. If any of this is incorrect, please see the Registrar or the Assistant to the Dean of Students (ATDOS) to correct this information. These forms are also available online.
  • If you have had your name changed as a result of marriage, please present a certified copy of your marriage license to the Registrar or ATDOS with the change of name form. A copy will be made and the certified copy returned to you.
  • Your advisor will discuss with you any tags that are on your account.
  • Most students will have a PREPAY tag indicating that they have not paid for the semester for which they are pre-registering. Students must clear their PREPAY tag with the business office to be enrolled for classes. Failure to do so by the published deadline will result in the student being dropped from her courses.
  • The ADMISS tag indicates that the student has outstanding transcripts or GRE scores that must be submitted to the Admissions Office. Your advisor can give you specific information about what is missing. You may only attend for one semester with this tag on your account.
  • The CONDIT tag indicates that you have been accepted with certain conditions, usually academic. You may be limited to 8-9 hours to insure your academic success. This is not a hold tag and you may attend PSI with this tag on your account.
  • The ID tag indicates that you need to verify your identity by showing a picture ID to the person who will take your photograph for your student ID, usually the Librarian or an Admissions Officer. You may only attend for one semester with this tag on your account.
  • The INFO tag indicates that you must complete the required paperwork found in your orientation packets.
  • Most students choose to clear the ID and INFO tags during Orientation.
  • Select your courses with your advisor.
  • Your advisor will provide you with a copy of your course schedule and registration policies and procedures. Please read this before you sign it.
  • Please highlight any tags listed that you have on your account on your schedule sheet.
  • Proceed to the Business Office to make financial arrangements and clear your PREPAY tag.
  • If you need to make schedule changes before the term begins, please see your advisor.

Waitlist Procedures:

  • If the course for which you are attempting to pre-register is full, you may be put on a waitlist.
  • If space becomes available in the course, you will automatically be placed into the course.
  • An email will be sent to you from the Registrar informing you that they have been registered for the course. Please check your email for these updates very frequently!
  • By waitlisting for a course, you obligate yourself financially and academically to the course if a space opens.

Becoming Officially Registered:

  • To become officially registered, you must have cleared their PREPAY tag with the Business Office. You may carry an ADMISS, INFO, and/or ID tag on your accounts for no more than one semester. All tags must be cleared by the final day to remove hold tags published on the Academic Calendar. Students are officially registered by the Registrar before courses begin.
  • Students who fail to have their tags cleared by the deadline will have their classes administratively dropped. In order to re-register for those classes, you will be required to complete a late registration form and clear all remaining tags. It is possible that you could lose your seat in full classes to waitlisted students whose tags were cleared by the deadline.

Procedures for Adding and Dropping:

  • All adds/drops require appropriate paperwork (Add/Drop/Withdrawal form) and can be submitted to the Registrar or the ATDOS.
  • The drop/add/withdrawal fee is $30 per transaction (per form regardless of the number of changes on the form).

Late Registration:

  • Any student officially registered after Orientation/Registration Day will pay $50 late registration fee and must complete the Late Registration Form. This includes students whose classes were administratively dropped due to hold tags on their accounts.
  • Students may not register late for the term after the last day to add/drop.

Weekly Class Add / Drop / Withdrawal Policy

  • Courses may be added the first week of the term (w/$30 fee).
  • Any courses dropped prior to the first day of the term receive 100% refund.
  • For the remainder of the semester, students will receive refunds and be assigned withdrawal grades (W, WP, WF) in accordance with the published academic calendar (w/$30 fee).

Intensive Class Add / Drop / Withdrawal Policy

  • Any courses dropped prior to the close of business on the day before the course begins receive a 100% refund (w/$30 fee). Beyond this time, no refunds will be given.
  • Registration for intensive courses follows the same process and timeline as weekly courses for degree-seeking students. No intensive courses will be added to a student’s schedule after the last day to add/drop.
  • Non-degree seeking students will be allowed to pre-register for an intensive up until a week before the class begins as space permits and will be subject to the late registration fee. No students will be allowed to add intensives during the week before the course begins.
  • Courses may be dropped up to the day before the course begins and the course will not appear on the transcript (w/$30 fee).
  • Courses dropped on the first day receive a “WP” or “WF” grade as determined by the instructor (w/$30 fee). (The instructor will be contacted by the Registrar via email to issue the grade.)
  • Courses dropped after the first day of class receive a “WF” or “WP” as determined by the instructor and no tuition refund. (The instructor will be contacted by the Registrar via email to issue the grade.)
  • “WF” grades are calculated into the GPA like “F” grades.

Institutional Withdrawal Policy

  • Withdrawal prior to the first day of the term will result in a 100% refund and courses will not appear on the transcript.
  • For the remainder of the semester, students will receive refunds and be assigned withdrawal grades (W, WP, WF) in accordance with the published academic calendar (w/$30 fee).
